Terms and Conditions

Software Activation
You must activate Windows Vista™ to use all the features.

Backup
Before you upgrade, close all open programs and save open files. The upgrade setup application will reboot your computer several times, so any unsaved work will be lost.

Except for the Windows Vista N editions, the upgrade process preserves your settings, programs, and saved files. As a standard precaution, we recommend that you back up your computer.

If you have a Windows Vista N edition, Windows Vista will be reinstalled during the upgrade. Your settings will be erased; however, your programs and files will be preserved. You should back up prior to upgrading.

Backup
Upgrading should not change your settings or remove programs, and your files should remain in the same locations on your computer. However, we recommend that you back up your settings and files before you begin the upgrade, as a standard backup precaution.

Hardware
To install and use all functions available through the upgrade, additional hardware and drivers may be required. For more information, please refer to the Compare Editions page.

Availability
Your ability to purchase the upgrade is based on the availability of the upgrade software at that time. Microsoft reserves the right to determine availability of the upgrade software from time to time.

License Agreement
You must accept the license terms presented during installation of the upgrade before you can use this software. To read the license terms prior to purchase, go to http://www.microsoft.com/useterms. If you do not accept the terms of the License Agreement, you should promptly return the product for a refund.

Digital Locker

To set up your Digital Locker, Microsoft uses the e-mail address you provide to Microsoft or the third party retailer when you submit your Windows Anytime Upgrade order. This email address is used to identify you as the holder of the product ID associated with your Windows Anytime Upgrade license. Your license is placed in the Digital Locker within 3 days after you click Upgrade Now on the Order Receipt page or when you click the download link in the confirmation e-mail message. For more information about how Digital Locker uses your information, see the privacy statement at http://digitallocker.windowsmarketplace.com/PrivacyPolicy.aspx
